Abstract

In this research, the possibility of removing some heavy metals from contaminated soil, such as lead, vanadium, copper, arsenic and tin, was studied after washing the contaminated soil with water for three days, where the percentage of removal of elements was approximately 30%, and then using the method of extracting these elements by adding the solution Aqueous salt of different concentrations (Na2EDTA)

(0.01, 0.014, 0.02, 0.024, 0.03)

It was found that the highest removal percentage was for tin 89%, lead 82%, copper 92%, arsenic 84%, and vanadium 94% during a 11 days of treatment and at a stable acidity function on neutralization at a concentration of (0.03M).

From aqueous solution of salt (Na2EDTA)

At which the concentration of the elements reached a level less than the permissible limit in the soil according to the environmental parameters.
